Oh man, 100 years of independence.
First, I'll share this video. Jean Sibelius, Finlandia. Enjoy

What I most love about my home country is truly the nature. How clean and lush it is, 187 888 lakes, the peace, long summer days. I could never imagine living somewhere else nor do I really want to.
I mean with a view like this, this is home to me.

I'm not the best with words but I do have to thank my grandfather for his sacrifice during the WW2, he went in voluntarily as a young man, came back scarred but alive. Died earlier this year at the age of 96, would've been 97 at the end of summer. Lived a good long life, shame you had to go but maybe we'll see someday when it's time.

It's all thanks to you and all the other brave men and women who fought for our country, that we get to celebrate 100 years of independence today.

Thank you

God bless Finland and the example it has set for the rest of the world as a free state for and by its people. It has far outlasted its oppressor the soviet union and czarist Russia Good tidings from the United States.
